House of Takura (aka H.O.T.) is a lifestyle brand focused on high-end and unique designs that tell a story of African traditions and Western influences.
At H.O.T, we envisioned fusing African textiles with Western fabric and modern styles to reflect H.O.T owners’ own upbringing. The notion of fusion is deeply-rooted in her life and shows in the brand. She is a lover of fashion and the creative expression associated with it, as such, H.O.T. was birthed from bridging and, in essence, celebrating the beautiful conundrum that is the identity and experiences of so many diasporans. We have infused this hybrid upbringing in our travel bags inspired by and made in Africa.
Their goal is to touch every country in Sub-Saharan Africa. Their purpose is to empower the future of Africa one bag at a time. Follow their story! You can always find them on the web and on social media.
A Phoenix, AZ based natural hair, healthy eating and fashion enthusiast. Owner, Dee has taken on a pescatarian diet for over 11 years while focusing on health, nutrition and body cleansing. Living by the mantra, “You are what you eat,” her main goal was to grow healthy and strong natural hair. Her mission is simple: to share detox recipes and small bites that make detoxing easier, more enjoyable and yield the results of full body cleansing.
So you may ask why candles? At the beginning of our quarantine Dee was feeling the mental affects of being so caught up with work, her children, events, traveling, etc. when told she would have to “stay put” for days that have turned into weeks and well over a month, she wasn’t sure what to do. It dawned on her to order some candles. The various scents changed her living space in a positive and energetic way. She then knew she wanted to share her love for aromatherapy with others. The scents in her @naughty_naturals candles are sensual but can be used at any point of the day. Capturing florals, musks, fruits and more to take your senses on a journey that will elevate your self care rituals you currently have in place. Join me on the journey to rejuvenate your health, mind and body.
After a career in special events and marketing, Kimberly Fonville knew from an early age that she had a gift in the kitchen. While writing her cookbook, Kimberly knew it was time to segue out of marketing and pursue her true passion… Cooking! As a professional chef for 15 years and doing Special Events Marketing at Essense Magazine, Fonville became a high-profile personal chef.
In addition, Chef Kimberly does catering and special dinners/fine dining dinners. During the George Floyd protests, Kimberly began creating spices as a protest against Goya products in rebuttal to their financial support to Trump. This has resulted in a line of 35 chemical-free products that include spices, butters, oils, salt lends, and sugar blends as well.
